The Toronto Police Association represents approximately 8,000 full-time and part-time uniform and civilian members of the Toronto Police Service. Our members include frontline police officers, criminal investigators, community response officers, parking enforcement officers, communications operators, court officers, civilian specialists and support staff.
We support our members by helping to improve their working conditions in a number of ways:
- We campaign on behalf of our members for improved working conditions
- We represent our members in negotiation with the employers
- We make sure our members are fairly treated and adequately compensated
- We provide a wide range of benefits to our members, including legal representation and advice
An equally important role for the TPA is to promote public policing. This is accomplished through lobbying and advocacy on the value that municipal policing brings to public safety.
Our members are hard working professionals dedicated to keeping the City of Toronto a safe place to live, work, and visit. They are your neighbours, the police officer patrolling your community, the voice at the other end of the phone during an emergency and the school resource officer who helps keep your child’s school safe. The Toronto Police Association is the voice of our members, dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of the men and women who serve and protect your community.
